Demands
- F.U.E.L. demands outreach efforts and resources within the Renaissance Scholars Program so that more foster youth students can access and benefit from its services.
- F.U.E.L. demands that ASI adopt a formal policy allocating a one-time dedicated budget of $5,000-10,000, beginning in Spring 2026, to support outreach, recruitment, and success initiatives for foster youth students.
This campaign would utilize ASI (Associated Students, Inc.) to provide funding for the next school year, 2026-2027.
Although RSP provides academic advising, personal development workshops, essential needs support, and emergency funding, many eligible students are not aware of the program or struggle to access services due to limited staffing and outreach.
Strengthening outreach and increasing staff capacity will ensure that more foster youth students are informed about the program, can enroll, and receive timely and reliable support throughout their college journey.
This policy would require ASI to set aside funding to support program events, essential needs items, academic resources, and student engagement activities that increase awareness of the Renaissance Scholars Program and expand participation among foster youth students for the 2026-2027 academic school year.
Target
Our campaign's primary target audience is foster youth students at Fresno State who need greater access to community resources, academic support, and peer-led personal development opportunities. To meet these needs, F.U.E.L.'s demands are directed toward:
- Renaissance Scholars Program Coordinator (lowest-ranking decision-maker capable of expanding outreach, staffing, and resource access for foster youth students)
- Associated Student Inc.'s Finance Committee (lowest-level committee with authority to allocate and approve the one-time budget requested by F.U.E.L.)
- Budget Call Research Grant (overseen by ASI) - the formal process through which student organizations submit funding proposals
- ASI Senate (has final approval authority and oversees the financial status of student programs, scholarships, and grants on campus)
