Motivation to Teach Social Action:
An integral part of the Leadership Development Program is the ability for students to engage in social action projects that are visionary, participatory, justice-oriented, in solidarity with directly affected groups, and sustainable (the list of adjectives could continue). I would like to hear from others how they do this effectively within a higher education context, as most of my experience with this is in k-12 settings and afterschool programs of k-12.
Course Description:
Leadership and Society offers the opportunity to review, analyze, and discuss current issues in government, non-profit, and for-profit sectors based on the Social Change Model. It serves as the advanced leadership class for SUNY Brockport’s Student Leadership Development Program (LDP).
