Fueling Change: Funding Strategies for Social Action

Fueling Change: Funding Strategies for Social Action

Taught By:

Kristie Lipford Wyatt, Sociology

Assistant Professor

Le-Moyne Owen College

Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I have recently developed a Social Impact concentration in Sociology and I would love to offer a stand alone workshop or a curriculum that can be embedded in select courses in the concentration.

Course Description:

This workshop offers students the skills to secure funding for advocacy initiatives, community projects, and nonprofit programs through grants, major gifts, and crowdfunding. Participants will develop real-world fundraising proposals, donor engagement strategies, and sustainable funding models to support grassroots organizing, policy change, and mission-driven organizations. By the end, students will have the tools to finance and sustain meaningful social impact.
