Motivation to Teach Social Action:
I currently lead a short-term, faculty-led study-abroad program that includes a social action project upon our return to the United States. I would like to learn more about how to teach social action effectively. Although I implemented this project a few years ago, I do not have formal training in teaching social action. I am also interested in integrating social action into an immigration history course that I am currently teaching as a special-topics course and plan to propose as a permanent course.
Course Description:
