Motivation to Teach Social Action:
Social Justice is a key part of the Teacher Education program at York. It is crucial for our pre-service educators to understand how to incorporate valuable and meaningful experiences in their classes. We must prepare them to do so.
Course Description:
EDUC 285: Introduction to Special Education provides an overview of the historical, philosophical, and legal foundations of special education. Students explore characteristics of diverse learners, special education processes and services, individualized supports, family collaboration, and culturally responsive practices in inclusive educational settings.
