Motivation to Teach Social Action:

Course Description:

Resistance/Activism/and Social Change centers the feminist charge— ‘the personal is political.’ Centering women of color and queer feminist in our past, present, and future we’ll learn, engage with, and practice the theories and pedagogies that ground women of color and Black feminist praxis (practice). We’ll engage with past and current social movements and activist as we build our own practices of resistance. We’ll discuss intersectionality within our movements, the difference between an activism and organizing, the limits of the law, and how we can work towards creating better worlds. Topics may include reproductive justice, labor organizing, queer political movements, indigenous movements, and disability justice.
