I teach policy and I am actively engaged in various levels of policy work in the city and state.
Course Description:
Social Welfare Policy examines social welfare policy as a form of social and political action. Students analyze how historical and contemporary policies are developed, implemented, and experienced; examine power, stakeholders, and systems that shape policy decisions; and develop skills in policy analysis, advocacy, and social action. Grounded in social work values and liberatory frameworks, the course emphasizes the role of social workers in advancing policy change and promoting social, racial, and economic justice.
